    Disposing of your Biodegradable Toothbrush.

    The clear blister seal on the handle is made of a PLA, a bioplastic.  This is a biodegradable plant-based plastic made from corn-starch.

    To dispose of your toothbrush;

    1. Break off the toothbrush head and dispose of it thoughtfully.  Take advantage of Grin’s recycling program or check with your local recycling program to see if it’s suitable.
    2. Place the toothbrush handle and the packaging into your home compost.  It takes on average, 1 year for the toothbrush handle to break down.

    Caring for your Biodegradable Toothbrush.

    Grin toothbrushes are made from a corn starch, a naturally occurring material that is robust for personal use.  It may not have the strength of traditional plastic toothbrushes so caution needs to be used when brushing teeth, as heavy/hard brushing may cause the toothbrush head to snap off.

    However, dentists recommend minimal pressure when brushing teeth to avoid issues such as receding gums, enamel erosion and increased tooth sensitivity.
