How long do Spruce Cloths last?

Months! Typically about 12 months.  Don't worry, just because they are compostable it doesn't mean they break down quickly in your kitchen.  These cloths can be cleaned in the washing machine or dishwasher time and time again and they won't even begin to break down.  They need the bugs and bacteria in your compost bin to begin the process of composition.  

What are Spruce Cloths made out of?

Spruce cloths are made from 100% natural cellulose blended with cotton.  That makes them 100% biodegradable and home compostable.  Hip hip hooray for zero-waste living!

These Spruce Cloths soften when wet and can absorb 15 times their own weight!  They dry fast so they don’t breed bacteria or smell.  This makes them the premier cloth for use in the kitchen.

Home Compostable Kitchen Cloths

Spruce Cloths are designed to last you at least 12 months. Some have even been known to last as long as 2 years!  But once you are done with your cloth, simply pop it into your compost bin. They will compost in approximately 5 weeks.

What can Spruce Cloths be used for?

Other uses for your Spruce cloth includes kitchen cleanups, cleaning your bathroom, streak free windows, mirrors and glassware, polish silverware without abrasion, dusting, pet messes, car cleaning and more.  They are also ideal to line the bottom of pot plants to soak any overwatering too!

Caring for your Spruce Cloths.

To clean simply pop your Spruce Cloth into the washing machine, or onto the top rack of the dishwasher.
Handy tip: Don't use softeners as these can break down the natural fibres.

If your cloth ends up in the dryer it will look crinkled and shrunk, but don't worry, just wet it again and it will return to its usual size and shape.

If you want to seriously sterilise your Spruce Cloth, ensure it is WET and place into the microwave for 2 minutes.
Take care removing as it will be very hot!

You can use the cloth with or without cleaning products. Harsh cleaning products will not remove the print colour. Hot, soapy water will remove traces and smells from most of the sauces, spills and kitchen accidents.
