Why Choose A Honeywrap Beeswax Wrap?

Honeywraps look great and keep your food nice and fresh. They can save hundreds of metres of plastic from ending up in landfill and are really easy to use.

Did you know... beeswax has natural antimicrobial properties. This helps to keep your food fresh and makes cleaning them an easy task.

    What are Beeswax Wraps?

Beeswax wraps are quite simply a piece of cotton fabric covered in a thin layer of beeswax. There's also a bit of tree resin and jojoba oil in there too to make the perfect beeswax mix, to ensure that they do a great job and last as long as possible.

If you'd like to give making them a try you can get a DIY Honeywrap kit or if you're more crafty there's also the block of beeswax.

    How Do You Use Honeywraps?

The simplest way to think of them is just like cling wrap... except beeswax wraps actually stick! Just pick the size you need, (just enough to cover the edge of the plate or bowl) and then wrap.

The tacky beeswax allows the wrap to either stick to itself (if you wrap food directly,) or to your dishes.

    How To Clean Beeswax wraps?

Brush off as many crumbs and bits of food as you can first, and then rinse. If you need more of a clean, you can use soapy cold water. Use a soft sponge or cloth and wipe gently. Rinse clean and then leave to dry.

How To Keep Beeswax Wraps Looking Great For Longer?

Honeywraps should last you for at least year of regular use. But over time you may see them appear to dry out a bit and not stick as well as when they were new. Don't worry, this is perfectly normal and there's a simple way fix it.

    1. Place your Honeywrap between two sheets of baking paper.
2.Iron on a cool setting. No hotter than 55°C. (Beeswax melts at 60°C) You'll see the beeswax print darken through the baking paper. This is what you're looking for.
    3. Leave to completely cool. Do NOT attempt to pull off the baking paper. (I've done this and it pulls the beeswax away from the wrap. You don't want that to happen.)
    4. Once fully cool, the baking paper will peel away from the Honeywraps easily, and they'll be back to looking like new! Fold and store until you need them.
